Dili, October 19, 2026 – His Excellency the Secretary of State for General Secondary and Technical-Vocational Secondary Education (ESG-ESTV), Mr. Domingos Lopes Lemos, continued his monitoring visits this Monday to observe the administration of the 2026 academic year National Exams at the Finantil and 10 de Dezembro General Secondary Schools in Comoro.
The primary objective of the visit was to directly observe and monitor the preparations for and the implementation of the National Exams—which take place over three days—to ensure that the assessment process is conducted appropriately, in an organized manner, and in compliance with established procedures.
During the visit, the Secretary of State and his team also had the opportunity to assess the conditions at the schools and observe students as they took their exams, aiming to ensure that they could complete their tests with peace of mind, focus, and a sense of responsibility.
The National Exams represent a fundamental stage in the teaching and learning process, as they allow for the evaluation of the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by students throughout their academic journey.
In this regard, the support and supervision provided by the leadership of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with school administrators and teachers, play an essential role in ensuring that the assessment process is carried out effectively, transparently, and with credibility.
The Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to the quality of education and to the implementation of rigorous and reliable assessment processes, seeking to ensure that all students have the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities and prepare adequately for the next stages of their educational path.
